Hold the signal
Your HUD begins a four-second scanner lock. Leaving range resets it, so high-speed fly-bys do not register.
Every world opens into a stable procedural asteroid field with surveys, persistent player construction, hidden cores, graded resources, and mineable wreck salvage.
Hold near an asteroid for four uninterrupted seconds to register its signal, then mine eight natural blocks to ground-truth it for expedition clearance.
Each asteroid keeps the same location, type, resource grade, shape, and core. The field is procedural, but it does not reroll on restart. A scan pays once; verified fieldwork becomes part of your route record.
The main planet sits directly under the landing dock. Moving outward creates more asteroids at stable locations, with wider spacing on later planets.
Discovery, mining value, and the core are three separate rewards. A strong asteroid can be valuable in more than one way.

Mine eight natural blocks from the body to ground-truth it for route surveys, reach, and bearing coverage.
Mine graded blocks, locate the modeled core, and push farther out for a capped logarithmic depth bonus.
The type controls the modest first-discovery bonus. Grade and deep-field distance shape its Coins and the value of blocks you mine afterward.
A first-time Coin bonus worth 40 blocks on your current planet, plus 1 Core.
A first-time Coin bonus worth 30 blocks on your current planet, plus 2 Cores.
A first-time Coin bonus worth 25 blocks on your current planet, plus 3 Cores.
A first-time Coin bonus worth 15 blocks on your current planet, plus 2 Cores and 2 Fragments.
| Treasury 50% chance | Gold Block Pays a larger Coin reward on higher resource grades. |

| Reactor 30% chance | Amethyst Block Pays 8, 14, 24, or 40 Cores from Trace through Black Reach. |
| Overcharge 20% chance | Diamond Block Raises asteroid Coin rewards by 50% for 90 seconds. |
Not every signal means the same thing. Survey discoveries are permanent; field events only resolve after eight natural samples; personal cache signals are short navigation challenges.
Every procedural body accepts persistent construction inside a 16-block envelope. Some sectors contain a torn survey ship and mineable derelict locker. One Wreckbound Sentry guards early fields; later fields can deploy 2. Break a locker to release its physical, non-refilling artifact stack.
A compass trail points to a viable asteroid 64–160 blocks away. Reach its beacon before the 3-minute signal ends.
