Field guide 06

Wear the decision.

Twelve physical pieces. Three coherent sets. Craft from recovered wreck technology or buy the exact piece you want, then decide how far its own enhancement story should go.

Armor is an item, not a profile unlock.

Every piece has its own serial, +0–+10 enhancement level, and two unique compatible rune sockets. Drop it, store it, sell it to Wardwright Veyra, or hand it to another player and that exact history travels with it.

A transferred tool, weapon, armor piece, or gadget only activates for a player who has personally reached its required planet tier. An uncertified piece waits safely as an owned item until its holder completes the required journey.

Only real pieces worn in distinct armor slots count toward a set. Copies in a backpack, duplicate slots, names, and profile flags never complete a bonus.

Head, chest, and feet gadgets occupy real armor slots. Two-piece bonuses remain reachable beside a Headlamp and Shaftwing; four-piece bonuses reward committing the complete armor loadout.

The bulwark atelier armor catalog is a paginated manifest with 12 launch pieces. The same model can grow to hundreds without creating one-off menus or balance registries.

Three field identities

Useful at two. Expressive at four.

Each bonus is situational by design. Listed damage reductions apply after normal armor finalization, so their posted percentages remain exact. Armor improves a route; it never becomes an access key.

Time and certainty have different prices.

Recover named shipwreck artifacts for the lower Setcraft route, or skip the salvage chase and pay the posted Coin-only atelier price. Both routes require you to have reached the piece's world tier.

Veyra returns exactly 25% of the fabrication Coin fee; artifacts, Cores, direct-purchase premium, enhancements, runes, and failed attempts add no value. There is no craft–buyback or purchase–buyback Coin loop.

Exact-piece +0–+10

A visible defense gain with a real risk.

Each successful level adds 0.075 armor and 0.03 toughness to the submitted piece. Set and rune bonuses never scale with enhancement.

The forge previews the exact serial, next level, Coin and Core price, success chance, and destructive risk before confirmation. Failure can leave the piece unchanged or destroy it according to the shared gear curve.

An Aegis Rune absorbs one destructive result, is consumed, and leaves that piece at its current enhancement. It does not improve the displayed success roll or protect another item.

An unprotected item has a 38% chance to reach +10 before destruction. Long-run expectation is 2.64 copies, 1,429.9 enhancement-price units, and 7,007 Cores per completed +10 piece.

Those expectations include repeated attempts and restarts after destruction; replacement acquisition is shown separately below because a player may craft or purchase each copy.

Compatible runes only

Two sockets, no duplicate rune.

Compatibility belongs to the piece definition. An invalid or duplicate rune never enters the item.

Crimson route

Wardwright Veyra · Bulwark Atelier

Follow the crimson route-bulwark to the repurposed west Observatory deck. Veyra handles direct fitting, artifact Setcraft, enhancement, compatible rune socketing, and fixed buyback from one authored workshop.

There is no armor auction house, listing board, or P2P listing market; direct physical handoffs still work. Armor is still droppable, storable, and transferable as a physical item.

Buyback is 25% of the fabrication Coin fee and returns no artifacts or Cores.
